A lot of wasted effort and money. But what if an enterprising equality company was to simply give away the training in a packaged, generic course, or as a set of 'rapidready' ppt slides***. Perhaps this could work fine for organisations that like that sort of thing perhaps this would mean a lot of business for the company to tart it up and brand the content Perhaps simply seeing the name on this would generate business later on I see so much of the commercial elearning community discussing Free as it applies to us using other people's free tools, but isn't it about time that Free came in here too and started to disrupt things for us?

HTML 5 and eLearning Development - The Upside Learning Solutions Blog Those of you have heard of HTML 5 will know it's a new version of HTML and XHTML being promoted by Google and Apple in a bid to move the web away from proprietary technologies like Flash, Silverlight and JavaFX. It makes HTML more powerful by adding new elements like video and audio. A list of new elements in HTML 5 can be found here at IBM's site and the draft specification is available here at W3C's site.

As I mentioned in Real-Time Collaborative Editing , I had a fantastic experience participating in group editing of a Mind Map of collaborative tools during a session at Learn Trends...
I have now finalised the Top 100 Tools for Learning 2008 list based on the contributions of 223 learning professionals worldwide. The list is available online at www.c4lpt.co.uk/recommended/top100.html or as an embeddable slideshow (see below) or as a PDF to download . I have also sorted the tools into categories, and this table also shows the top tool in each category as well as the top free tool, if different.
MySpace is clearly behind in the corporate eLearning world. Twitter adoption is higher than I would have thought. When I take a look at Tool Use as reported by people in Education ... Some things that jumped out at me: Clearly Education is ahead of Corporate adoption, otherwise the numbers are fairly well aligned...I've been working with Steve Wexler and the eLearningGuild on the eLearning 2.0 survey and report.
I've been told recently that one of the things that people like most about my blog is the cool new tools I find and share with the eLearnDev community. Update June 2008 - added one free flash quiz tool based on a question I received. This tool is listed at the bottom. A client wanted to create online quizzes that would live inside of a larger site. They didn't really need tracking of user responses, instead they wanted them to be fun. I suggested a couple of tools, but then wondered if I had given them the best list of tools. So, the eLearningGuild research again to the rescue...
