Rapid eLearning Tools Satisfaction from the eLearningGuild Research reported Feb 2007 - Course Authoring and Rapid eLearning Tool Satisfaction See also Software Simulation Tools . Page update Mar 2008. When the above graphic was taken, it shows the overall satisfaction reported by eLearningGuild members about various tools. I was reminded of the various Brandon Hall shoot-outs. For example, in 2007 PowerPoint to eLearning Shootout they compared: Articulate www.articulate.com Atlantic Link www.atlantic-link.co.uk PointeCast

As I mentioned in Real-Time Collaborative Editing , I had a fantastic experience participating in group editing of a Mind Map of collaborative tools during a session at Learn Trends. I would expect the document to continue to grow and change, but thought it would be worth having it available in a text format as well (so I can find it when I need it). I am working on a presentation in a few weeks about eLearning authoring tools. A high level overview for learning and development types who don't actually use the tools, but want to know what's out there, when you might use it, and some of the pros and cons. Now, I'm not much of a tool user myself. I've got some understanding of tools. But I would love the input of some actual tool users.

I've been told recently that one of the things that people like most about my blog is the cool new tools I find and share with the eLearnDev community. Well, here's the motherload of all developer tool lists compliments of Mashable.com . Let me know if you find something cool and use it for an elearning project. It's going to take me weeks to get through this list, but I'm glad its there when I need to look for this kind of stuff. I've already found some seriously cool nuggets that I'm hoping will be as cool as they look.

Many of these tools and services are free or have a free trial period, which can encourage you to experiment in a small way at first.
Each tool fulfills at least one of these criteria: encourages collaboration; enables user-generated content or input; provides a way to share; and facilitates informal or formal learning. It also integrates with a few open source eLearning tools. Do you have a training or information need that could benefit from a social media strategy? Understanding the universe of options can help you match your need to the best approach.

I've been working with Steve Wexler and the eLearningGuild on the eLearning 2.0 The charts below show use of different tools, sites, etc. The key is for the charts is: Darkest blue - daily Medium blue - weekly Light blue - monthly Gray - never Tool Use in Corporations Some things that jumped out at me: Much more blog reading that I expected. survey and report. Some interesting data points are coming out of the study.
