CBT Prior to online learning known then as WBT, and then the latter term of e-learning (vendors today, use it to refer to content that is online), there was CBT. CBT was the “new” and exciting way to learn. Then comes along AOL (did you know folks still have an AOL e-mail account? I used them).

One vendor called their system for the longest time a “micro-learning platform” Now? Another vendor calls their system nearly every keyword for SEO purposes (you can see it on their web site). I am constantly updating the types that exist, which would be covered under learning systems.

I remember seeing some pricing online by a LMS vendor and then when I got the contract it had different pricing on it. You see they had items you needed but they did not mention it on their web site. If it is high or get it fixed now – then someone or some folks are busting their buns (it is a Rated PG site here) to solve it.

The true premise of online learning is 24/7, anywhere access – via an internet connection and browser - assuming you are not using or enabling end users to have VPN, how can you truly state you are providing e-learning; since your employees cannot access from home – YOU CAN’T. E-Learning 24/7.

I mean you may look at their web site (vendor) or you may not. I still see 20-30 even 40 page RFPs that are sent to vendors. Overwhelmingly we provide some sort of training or learning to our employees or our customers. . Did the insurance company’s lead tell the vendor what they were using?

SCORM 2000 will work. On a surf expedition the other week, I came across a LMS vendor who was not pitching their product or selling their service, but rather was providing unbiased information on tablets and how they will revolutionize e-learning. E-Learning Vendors, Giveaways and Drawings.
