Im no Facebook super-user and I havent experienced a huge time suck from it, but I suppose its possible. Cammy, Im just a "lite" Facebook user, but I have seen profile pages that list their workplaces with commentary about how horrible their company is, or how much they hate their job. And Im in complete agreement.

"Emerging" = kinds of e-learning that are just starting to show up -- in labs, new company offerings. In the 90s there were one or two ways to do e-Learning: CDRoms and then the web. Pages and pictures and some sound and we turned the pages and took a test. This was "e-Learning 1.0". People dont learn in chunks.

A great example: I will not learn as well if you give me page after page of text with zillions of details. I prefer to get the big picture view first, and often a diagram or metaphor will do that for me. Take learning a piece of software. Jean, You make some great points about learning styles. They bore me to tears.

I can see how theorists might argue that reading text aloud to the learner addresses multiple "learning styles," but the real-world experience is one of frustration: you want to read ahead but you cant because the narrator reads more slowly than you do. Im with you. But I just thought that was my learning style. Youre right.

Then again, perhaps Im missing something. Files can be password protected Discussion Boards In August, Gin Premiere is launching with new features, including instant messaging, a "whos online" feature, skinning features, and the ability to upload pictures with your profile. It seems to me that FaceBook is a great networking tool.
