ADL funding news won’t really impact SCORM

Today on the xAPI working group call, ADL shared some news about their funding over the next 12 months. ADL continues to house information about SCORM on their websites, and it’s still the best place to go to understand the state of SCORM adoption and certification. It will continue to be the best place for that.

The next chapter in Rustici Engine’s LRS xAPI performance

Rustici Engine has supported xAPI (the Experience API) since 2011 when we created the initial version for ADL. The Problem The xAPI standard requires us to support a variety of ways to fetch statements. Computers flip through these “books” faster, but when the amount of data is large, it starts to become a big problem.

Why SCORM 2004 failed & what that means for Tin Can

Currently, someone can be a 4 th edition adopter but * not* certified. [3]. Sign #3: ADL itself heavily supports Tin Can as the successor of SCORM.[4]. Now, with the introduction of Tin Can API it seems certain that its adoption rate will decline even further. For example, a major problem with SCORM 1.2 Low adoption.
