However, in my experience developing eLearning using Adobe Captivate, I put the attention span of an adult learner at 15-20 seconds per slide. If the slide plays any longer, your learner will begin to fog out. Your student will have enough time to understand and absorb the content before moving on to the next slide.

During our live, online Articulate Storyline Beginner classes , we teach students how to import and record voiceover audio. The most common question we get about voiceover audio is “Can Storyline convert text to audio files?” The resulting audio file appears at the bottom left of the slide. by Kevin Siegel, CTT+, COTP.

When importing voiceover audio into Adobe Captivate, I always suggest that audio be added directly to the slide instead of objects on the slide ( Audio > Import to > Slide ). By importing audio directly onto the slide, you'll have more direct control over the audio. by Kevin Siegel.

For example, if you create content about personal finance, your advanced audience most likely won’t be as interested in your new beginner course. Many videos rely on sounds, music, and voiceovers. Include a slide to show your agenda for reference. This allows you to deliver more targeted messages that increase conversions.

One of the options missing from RoboDemo and older versions of Captivate was the ability to control the volume of the background audio on slides that already had audio (voiceover audio for instance). You will find the slider just to the right of Adjust background audio volume on slides with audio.)

Use Fewer Slides Keep the number of slides in your Captivate project as low as possible. Simply put, the more slides in your lesson, the larger the published lesson will be, especially if your lessons are larger (a large width and/or height) and you captured pixel-heavy backgrounds.
