One vendor asked if you wanted to learn more about their product and sent you to their help desk to notify them of errors or issues with their system (hmm, not likely to buy one from these guys). Over 90% of LMS vendors had their sites available only in English; so the potential customer could not view it in any other language.

Anyway, not sure how that played out when they had some clients who moved from Absorb to SmartLab and then ended up going back to Absorb – not an ideal customer service move IMO. Social learning.

As a potential customer, selecting a system quickly, based on specific features is long gone. Vendors whose focus is corporate rarely reject end users from the education/academia segment. Education/Academia vendors who focus solely on the education side, often decline customers on the corporate side. There are exceptions.
