In this case, I built all of the objects in PowerPoint and then saved them as images. Then I imported the images into the slides. Store PowerPoint graphics on the master slide. In a previous post, I shared how you can use the master slide as a repository. Improve your PowerPoint skills.

Creating the avatar is simply a matter of uploading an image and then applying the settings so that the mouth and eyes are detected. Considering how fast it converts the images to speaking avatars, I’m pretty impressed with the overall quality. Instead of a static image, you have a talking head. Create an Animated Avatar.

As the learners advance, the silhouettes change to real images. In the example below from Helmsmanship , you can see that the start of the section has the image and shares a core idea or theme. The following slides contain a silhouette of the core section image. For example, in the first image I introduce a group.

Essentially, you want to find a viable sliver from an image or screen grab. The process is very easy: Create a slide with a header and footer shape. Find a contextual image. Fill the header with a color picked from the top of the image. Fill the footer with a color picked from the bottom of the image.

However, if you go outside the box and edit the questions in slide view, you can make the quiz look like anything. I took some images I had on hand and wrote the script on the fly. In both examples above, we used the blank slide feature for most of the content and then added a multiple choice question to do the branching.

You don’t need to be a graphics artist, but you should know the difference between a bitmap and vector image because they play a role in the quality of what you see on the screen. The ones that get pixelated are bitmap images. When you scale the image, you’re scaling the pixel. When you scale the image, you’re scaling the pixel.

If you do have to explain something, create an image you can jump to with some text on it. I’d also make your desktop image a solid color rather than a distracting background image. For example, 720×540 is the aspect ratio for a PowerPoint slide. DevLearn 2009 : November 11-13 in San Jose, CA.

I usually look for a single image that helps do that. In workshops we usually create a blank slide and then a box to represent all of those things above. The image below represents some common scenario layouts. One way to get started is to create three blank slides: one for each part of the 3C model. Is it just text?

If you look at the image below, you can see that there’s nothing on the master slides because I didn’t use any master slides. Instead all of the persistent objects on the screen are copied over all of the slides. This means that each slide takes a little longer to publish. Publishing time was slower.

Use PowerPoint shapes or images to point out things on the table. Also, if you want to print out the PowerPoint files, you have to remove all of the animations from the slide. For example, let’s say on slide one, you want an image to move from one side of the screen to the other. Then on slide two, you want to start with the image in the new position. You can copy and paste that onto the next slide and the object will be aligned to the end point of the animation on the previous slide.

A common challenge we face in building courses is that the content owner has put a lot of effort into creating the content (like a 300 slide presentation) and is reluctant to lose any of the data or look at ways to rework it and make it more interactive because to them, everything is equally important.
