I include Learning Portals, LCMSs, as part of the mix. Extended Enterprise – System must have e-comm, multi-tenet – fully skinnable, additional functionality. I like this system and its functionality in comparison to the other players in this space. Extended Enterprise. Extended Enterprise capability.

Built in E-mail that blocks viruses, spam plus you can send out of the LMS. Desktop sharing (appears with a few vendors). One click SMB edition to Enterprise. Multi-tenet, multi-portal and extended enterprise (basically it is all the same thing). The reasons include: They aren’t the only players in town.

Remember back in my authoring tool list, I mentioned one well known LMS vendor who dropped significantly in my rankings? Ideal for folks who want a multi-tenant system or also known as an extended enterprise. Very good for extended enterprise systems and even standalone systems i.e. without going multi-tenant. So, why the drop?

Vendors were saying, lets “wait on those&# or “our customers are not requesting them, so we are holding off&#. Social learning? If they were doing it, Facebook like page, a crummy blog that looks nothing like a real blog, a Twitter like feed, maybe RSS, text chat and YouTube functions and upload/download angle.

And, hey, many e-Learning vendors are vested in the "old boomer" model of training. with games like Space Invaders, the thought of the player is geared more toward pattern recognition, “what pattern are the invaders following&# and “how do I disrupt the patter?&# "We dont have the budget for that."
