I’ll be the first to admit, that I was not a big fan of the previous versions of the Plateau system. After viewing the Plateau TMS, my concerns in one area have been eliminated, in others, not so much. Plateau LMS is a Talent Management System, made up of four modules. Plateau Learning. To Do List.

A lot of great products out there this year, new updates and latest versions; new companies, new services and just some real innovation. Big Dog (Saba, SumTotal, Plateau, Cornerstone OnDemand, Learn.com). Learn.com offered some robust SL capabilities, but you have to pay for one of their premium versions to have it. Categories.

A couple of vendors have added HRIS modules. New features in this space include workforce management, compensation/payroll and benefits as part of their modules. I am projecting that by the end of 2012, you will see HRIS features come into play, but more so as an additional cost module. Why more features on the side of HR?

I am still trying to wrap my head around this system, whereas learning is a module and whereas folks use SF for learning. One competitor purchased a VLP as a key component, SAP purchased SuccessFactors, a recruiting system initially turned HCM, who had acquired Plateau, a strong but awful UI/UX LMS. SAP SuccessFactors Learning.

But, they do use modules (so you can buy learning for example, and then down the road or at the same time performance and so forth). . I say this, and you can see it yourself, buy seeing all the modules available. Talk to many of them privately and they will say that most folks buy two modules out of the gate. But I digress.

At one time a true freebie – they still offer a stripped down version, their new fee based system provides enough oomph to make anyone go “Wow” Features include: The standards – i.e. my 90/10, whereas 90% of the features are the same in the majority of systems in the space. Pricing wise – extremely affordable. #9

In Advanced ID class, students are formed into a team, introduced to an actual client (local hospital, school, manufacturing organization, police department) and create a finished instructional module for that organization, complete with pre- and post- testing of a sampling of the learners. this happens for online and on campus students).
