The idea is to take pictures – many of them – of the object that you would like to replicate in virtual form. For example, if you are trying to capture a building and you can only photograph it from the street level, then your model will most likely not have a roof due to you having not taken any photos of the roof. How does it work?

If ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’, how much value do visuals of people in our presentations have? Studies have shown that pictures on social media with humans attract more views than pictures without. Pictures focused on a person’s face can even make a brand seem more reliable and trustworthy. Sun Microsystems has conjured up two, Dawn of the Shadow Specters and Rise of the Shadow Specters, which take place in an alternate universe called Solaris, colonized by a race of people who happen to reflect the company’s values. In 2006, Google created a game to help it tag pictures and photos on the web.

It was fun to see a few office teams smiling and laughing in group photo sessions. An incredible live band was playing and we all chatted and swayed to the music (pictured). There were smiles all around as the sun set and the palm trees became silhouettes. When we arrived, a light punch was offered and tasty appetizers.

Anyway, I have just watched the sun rise over the placid bay and the photo above is one of the shots I took to capture the moment. Let's see - @timbuckteethnz. no, perhaps not. Makes me sound as though I'm still jetlagged and snoring quietly in the back row of a cinema.
