Video file size can be tricky and the concept of reducing video file size has many technical variables associated with it. You may want to reduce file size to more easily send to your co-workers, or complete your upload to YouTube quicker. Takeaway: Use the MP4 file type to keep quality and reduce file size.

To begin, TechSmith says that "larger videos (in resolution) will dramatically increase file size. Limit your video size to no larger than 1280 pixels (width) by 720 (height)." In fact, project (canvas) size and recording area size are two concepts that I cover early in my beginner Camtasia vILT class.

When teaching my students how to publish Articulate Storyline projects during my beginner class , I often get the following question: Student: “How do I publish my project as a video (MP4)?”. Video files are self-contained. You can email the video output to a colleague who does not have Storyline, so they can view your slides.

You can record audio directly to slide objects, a single slide, multiple slides or the project background. Regardless of your choice, you'll end up within the Slide Audio dialog box. In the lower left of the Slide Audio dialog box is a Settings button. Looking to learn Adobe Captivate 5?
