I want to create some online videos that will be a total of about 6-7 hours and upload them on my site. These videos would have software demos, screencasts and PowerPoints embedded inside them. Qarbon Pros: Less File size. Qarbon seems very easy to use. I have been looking into various tools. Creates as screenshot.

The version you want is the Pro version which comes with Corel Paint Shop Pro, Qarbon Viewlet builder. Can add HTML5 audio and video (SWEET!). Captivate – Overrated in my book. Solid set of features.

Now, to arrive at a manageable number of alternatives, you have to sub-divide the market into categories: Rapid tools ( Articulate , Captivate , Atlantic Link ) as opposed to whatever the others are called ( Authorware , Lectora , etc.).

If you are going to attempt to teach soft skills with little interactions or branching, little engagement, no video, no animation and little narration then $89,000 is just being thrown away. I don’t disagree with the comments that if the money is going towards interaction, engagement, video, branching, etc., It sounds like a rip-off.
