My thinking was sharpened, but I also took away really practical lessons for the things I am working on (like the idea to embed peergradio in Moodle for instance.) Communities of practice are powerful but not appealing A powerful things happened in the very last session at 17.00 and new relationships.

Informally we already did that, I believe, for example, by always look for the pioneers. I see more clearly or understand better why often the communications professionals and IT specialists are taking the lead concerning social technology within the organization. There is now much more buzz around learning in communities.

Can you engage introverts in social learning?

Maybe extroverted learners are especially active in a community of practice and the introverts read along and 'lurk'. It is also good to get together in smaller groups or to work in pairs (in a separate room during a live webinar for example, or in a subgroup on LinkedIn or Yammer). But is that true?
