Innovation abounded and the push to focus on the “PPT to Flash&# angle continued to shine. Open Source Product of the Year (i.e. You get the Flash code – YES – you get the code, which you can do whatever you want with it. 264 codec, which the iPad supports, and a few browsers for HTML5.

If emerging technology has taught us anything, it is only a matter of time until it bounces into our space. I have seen continued interest and downloads for open source AR tool kits. GestureTek develops motion control for tablets, e-readers, smartphones and televisions. HTML5 support – sorry Flash fans .

Another small trend is providing advanced admin capabilities in the form of admins who have CSS, Flash,PHP or other languages. Some vendors are providing some widgets are part of their system, and then customers can go onto the web and locate widgets to add or more often than not, create their own. Mobile Learning.

Emerging Technology? Apparently, the potential customers and even clients are speaking and those vendors are listening. While they still offer the LMS as we all know it, and its “learning&# approach, they are really driving into the TM space. 2 Mobile Learning. Emerging Technology. Well, guess what.

I include Learning Portals, LCMSs, as part of the mix. Open Source Systems – That have to be 100% free to be considered. Extended Enterprise – System must have e-comm, multi-tenet – fully skinnable, additional functionality. Open Source LMS of the Year. Social Learning is limited.
