The bottom line without getting technical or overly detailed, the solution is hosted on your vendor’s servers and not hosted on your internal servers. Benefits versus having it on my servers (behind my firewall). With a hosted solution, the vendor’s servers are able to tested to withstand scenarios like this.

Indeed, many traditional eLearning vendors ventured into the market though not in the volume or with the fanfare we had postulated twelve months ago. Others vendors will quickly follow/respond. Our experience in 2010 found ALL of our new customers and partners went “hosted” instead of installing enterprise (“behind the firewall”).
