CBT Prior to online learning known then as WBT, and then the latter term of e-learning (vendors today, use it to refer to content that is online), there was CBT. CBT was the “new” and exciting way to learn. Thus, simulations, courses that were engaging/interactive (in many cases) was available.

They were never inexpensive but come on – $2,299 for their rapid e-learning authoring suite – includes mobile (prices do drop if you purchase multiple but still 10-25 licenses runs at $1,954). Compared to the other big players – dominKnow Claro is a steal. No one says to me, “oh can it output to flash?”

One vendor already offers it in 2012, and knowing this industry – if something takes off and works, others will follow. Listen you love flash. I see this power including interactive simulations, simulations in general and even the use of APIs or along those lines embed into the HTML5. Digital Textbooks.

Mobile Player app – Major stinker. Player – edit the player properties. Flash – since my goal was to have the course visible on an iPad, I did not select this feature. Flash does not work on the iPad series. Final Word on the Mobile Player. Main reason IMO, that the product is desktop.

This will become one of the biggest features in 2012 – especially with people wanting to create simulations without being an e-learning developer. Some vendors push heavily on PPT, implying that a great WBT is really a PPT converted to Flash. Flash output – still red hot. It isn’t.

According to the latest projections, the number of tablets to be launched by the end of 2011, is between 80 to 85, with the exception of a small few, they will all accept Flash and HTML5. 3 Social Learning.
