for Learning Professionals is wrapping up. This week we looked at Social Networks. Here are some thoughts on this topic, especially thoughts around social networks for learning. Starting with Social Networking was a blessing and a curse. Social networks have a tendency to be a bit messy.

There's been quite a bit of discussion going on around Personal Learning Environments (PLEs) and personal learning environments. We talked about this briefly during a session with Tony O'Driscoll , Brent Schelenker , and Steven Downes at the eLearningGuild. I believe that we all have a personal learning environment.

You learn about this using these tools and scanning sources like blogs, trying things out, forcing yourself to make time to learn. I certainly talk about a big part of the value of blogs being building a network.
