Acquistions – Someone had an idea

LTG, Macromedia, Adobe, and Smart ideas (for the most part) LTG acquiring Rustici (makers of the SCORM engine and Watershed LRS, among other items) is a great idea. EdCast is still a strong player in the LXP market, although, at the time, they were adding ubiquitous features to the LMS space. Learn.com wasn’t a bad system.

The basic issue covered in the post was how to test SCORM courses prior to loading on a given LMS (e.g., Docent, SumTotal, Saba, Learn.com, etc.). Well worth looking at some of them.

Corporate wasn’t really there at the time, some places did it, but it was edtech, the launched the WBT scene, removing the distance learning debacle (which was the key player, think tv to tv or monitor, with people looking at other people, or the instructor, and yes it was very popular even into the 2000s). So, no 640 there.
