Vendors were saying, lets “wait on those&# or “our customers are not requesting them, so we are holding off&#. Apparently, the potential customers and even clients are speaking and those vendors are listening. Not just a few vendors, the industry as a whole. That smartphones were the answer to mobile learning.

One of the common reasons I hear from knowledge workers inside large organizations for not following the suggestions I provide is that the organization itself puts up barriers to working this way. Add to this VOIP/Skype, 3G and what’s happening with video on demand. This is a kind of mashup as well.

The data shows that what many vendors assume end users want is far from accurate. Too many vendors are focusing on talent/performance management as the next feature/component in their systems. rather then going through the LMS vendor. I have found I can land a better price then using the quick way via the LMS vendor.

And, many other companies are finally delivering a wide variety of software as service offerings from Business Objects to Adobe to Skype.

Please remember for TM or as some vendors like to pitch as “performance management or knowledge management&# , the modules are extra and are not part of the system (at least for now). Vendors who are my clients are aware, prior for me working with them, that there is no quid pro quo, nor any special treatment given to them on my blog.

No Skype nor Google+ icons and thus direct connections to, under your profile (although I understand with Google+ because it is so new). Extensive API and Mashup directors for you to pick and choose from. My Learning – identified the popular courses – solid. Bottom Line.
