At Online Educa in Berlin, I picked up a trial copy of YawnBuster , a new product from Harbinger Knowledge Products, the makers of Raptivity. If Raptivity is any guide, expect to see Harbinger release a whole series of additional packs. YawnBuster is a set of Flash templates that installs as a PowerPoint add-in.

I was interested to have a play with FlockPod , a new social interaction tool from Harbinger Knowledge Products, the people who market Raptivity, the rapid e-learning tool. I was interested to see a product like this coming from a developer associated with conventional self-paced e-learning.

Tools which create media-rich components ( Raptivity , Flash , PowerPoint, Acrobat, Captivate) which can then be inserted into other tools, as opposed to those tools which provide the wrapper and depend on you bringing in the really hot stuff from elsewhere (as with most built-in LMS/LCMS authoring modules).

Interestingly, the product has been designed to work at a number of levels: Entry level: simple templates, programmed objects and 3D libraries which enable games to be assembled easily. Enthusiast level: a visual flowcharting tool enables non-programmers to easily create complex gameplay.
