Reflections on the final day of TechKnowledge 11

Because of prior commitments, I only got to attend the last day of the TechKnowledge conference, to participate in two panels, one on mobile and one on instructional design, and then listen to the closing session. The possibilities provided by knowing where you are, that these devices have GPS in many cases, was also mentioned.

I was at ATD’s Techknowledge in January, and as this is published I’m on my way to Long Beach for their Core 4 event (sold out; if you’re one of the lucky ones there, say hi!). A bit quiet, but providing time for some writing. So, where am I this spring? But there’re a couple more events this spring.

2014 Directions

The events already queued up include: ASTD’s TechKnowledge 2014 , January 22-24 in Las Vegas, where I’ll be talking on aligning L&D with organizational needs (hint hint). In addition to time for reflection on the past, it’s also time to look forward.

I also presented at a wide variety of events, from regular venues like ASTD ‘s TechKnowledge and ICE, and the eLearning Guild ‘s Learning Solutions, mLearnCon, Performance Support Symposium, and DevLearn. It integrated my previous discussion of activity-centered learning with backwards design.

An ATD TK2020 retrospective #ATDTK

This past week, I spent two days at ATD’s Techknowledge conference. It had 6 channels, and a plug for earphones (also provided). Still, it helped the org, and provided an opportunity to interact. I gave a talk on ‘ transforming learning’, and another (largely) on myths. Even on the same stage!
