Note: There are vendors, including publishers/providers who use the term “EdTech” to refer to corporate, associations, education and government, which only adds to the confusion. There are way too many vendors who only have either GO1 or OpenSesame, which to me is a major error on their part.

For this year’s grid, an additional vendor was added per group (last year it was five per grid). NexGen Functionality Tier 2 (Not every vendor has all of these items, just an fyi).

So, P2P hits mainstream, okay, quite a few vendors. I see some vendors including a note or comment capability to the content curation, especially with the mobile video. I’ve yet to see this extensive set of options, but I do believe that some vendor (at least a few) will offer some type of capabilities, although not as robust.

Rather than go into a whole diatribe about CMI-5, I recommend you read this info on CMI-5 (put together in part from vendor RISC). Standard adoption takes time (as we can see with xAPI), so if you are concerned or worried about having to go with CMI-5, etc. I expect an increase in the number of LMS vendors to have responsive.
