SCORM, AICC, xAPI – Which one do I need?

Every time I write about the course standards, whether on my blog or, lately, on LinkedIn, I receive a lot of responses, feedback, and folks wanting to know more. SCORM is not easy to learn. SCORM’s premise, not what it can or cannot do, was its huge premise of interoperability—far more so than AICC.

There is a lot there for types of systems as I have noted before. I can’t forget the joke of micro-learning platforms, ignoring that micro-learning has been around since 2000, every type of learning system can do this because it is based solely on how you or whomever creates the courses/content.

Learning System Forecasts 2019

Based on some exploration, it is clear to me they have a couple of routes to go in terms of the system. I base it on a couple of observations notably that the person who runs learning products for Amazon comes from a learning system that is a content curator. I’m not seeing that. I’m not seeing that.
