That said, I have to say I was in shock when I found out that Topyx LMS by Interactyx is offering their built in course authoring tool as a FEE based solution and not free.

I couldn’t see how they could call themselves a social learning platform, because it seemed more to be an online authoring system or if you want to stretch it, a hybrid next gen lite LMS. Reports – very basic, but this is more a content authoring tool hybrid – which is becoming more prominent in the industry, so the minimal report is equally being seen.
