Authoring tools continued to be a mish-mash, with many continuing to forget what their number one goal truly is – creating content/courses. Articulate Rise, is a cloud-based authoring tool, not a hybrid – and will fully admit as so. Desktop authoring tools are still out there -and yes, I too, ask why. .

And there are a lot of businesses out there that block their end users from accessing any type of social media from the workplace. Excluding my Top 50 Learning Systems, and my Top 10 Authoring tool list, I’ve never really compiled a list of learning tools, although I do keep track of plenty, just for the sake of it.

Tell people at your company, business, firm, association that you can make money with e-learning and make training a profit center, many times, you will get a “sure, sounds great”, with snickers behind the go for it. . On top of that, with the majority of your customer base working from home, there are more opps that ever before.

have been making their rounds these past few months, mine included (authoring tools), but what about the worst? The number of companies, businesses, etc. Questionmark. Yes it is a top-notch SaaS assessment tool and it has a lot of functionality, but the UI is dated and needs major revamp. I say no more. . The jury is out.

Assessment tools including Online Testing Tools (even online proctoring) (ProProfs, ClassMarker, Questionmark). Rapid Course Authoring Tools. So it is not just the authoring tool.

I went to a couple, just to see, but honestly was too busy to attend everything. Authoring tool vendors were no-shows as well. . For the last two years, I ask my audience (I present at OEB), if they use 3rd party authoring tools. Authoring tool is horrible (BB and Canvas were listed). Questionmark. Sessions.

I love Questionmark, its a wonderful product and it can use a “connector” to integrate into your learning platform or system. Again, you can find them in most learning systems and even some authoring tools. Some systems call themselves a learning management system, but what they offer is clearly an online authoring system.
