The first conference on PLEs took place in the humid but tranquil Cornella area of Barcelona this week. For two days, the 'unconference' event hosted delegates from all over the world at the silubrious and very impressive Citilab Cornella. A number of questions were posed such as: should the PLE remain outside the institution.

On Sunday it's down to Frankfurt and a meeting with my old friend Sigi Jakob-Kuhn (follow her as @Networking_Lady on Twitter) in Wienheim, before moving onwards to Heidelburg to attend the International Networking Conference and chair their sessions on e-learning. There were many people at a session titled " the VLE is Dead " hosted by James Clay, Josie Fraser, Graham Attwell, Nick Sharratt and Steve Wheeler aka Timbuckteeth :).

The Melbourne set

Even Shelley Gibb (@mollybob) put in a surprise but very welcome appearance, all the way over from Sydney.

The day started well with an 'in the round' session with super geek and TV Gadget Show host Jason Bradbury who in his inimitable, mad cap style did live demonstrations of several fun robots including a flying drone he controlled from his iPhone. There was also a break dance-off between himself, a teenage boy and a robot. The robot won.

Small, but perfectly formed

I'm just back this evening from 'The Networks, Communities and Learning: Show that you Share' conference hosted at the University of Utrecht, Holland by the Bazaar Network. So, along with 40 or so other delegates, I participated in Bazaar's final conference - a small and intimate event. All I can say is: "Dank u wel, Mijnheer!"
