Manuel Castells (2012) remarked on the autonomous nature of social media, and how ideas and other content can be amplified across vast networks, reaching huge audiences in seconds. Teachers need not feel isolated any longer.

In fact it has thoroughly overturned the idea that you need to consult a printed encyclopedia to get expert information. The basic idea behind Wikipedia is that everybody can be an editor and a commentator. Others don’t accept the idea that students have the same status as lecturers. There is hardly any need for them.

Here is an idea how about putting a button the recorder that is a stop button. I wish they added Linkedin, which would then allow folks who do not want to use Slideshare as their sharing slide option. As you can see you can also allow folks to modify the mix under Creative Commons and also allow a discussion board.

Since I took the decision to offer all my blogposts and slideshows for free under a Creative Commons License, allowing anyone to freely copy and also repurpose my work, some interesting things have happened. It was self evident in the licence I applied from Creative Commons. But now that is all changing. Unported License.

This morning I looked at a presentation on SlideShare by the head of learning of an Irish insurance company. But there are limits.

Common examples of screencasts are onscreen tutorials , video lessons , or slideshare presentations. Of course, the idea that you have while writing the script may change when you actually start recording – that’s okay.
