One interesting result is that the audience for my eLearning 2.0 You learn about this using these tools and scanning sources like blogs, trying things out, forcing yourself to make time to learn. I certainly talk about a big part of the value of blogs being building a network. Most of us blog to Learn and Network.

I have a similar feeling about the limited value of these publications for me and it's something that I mention at most presentations I ever do on eLearning 2.0. A frequent question I get at the end of any presentation on eLearning 2.0 Some quick thoughts - Scanning Activity Replaced I likely spend an average of 30-45 minutes per day reading/writing that is part of what I call "scanning" which is staying up to speed on what's going on. Scanning really becomes scanning.

My sense is that we may need a new picture because of eLearning 2.0. Pretty much when Harold, Michele and I worked together to design the Web 2.0 How about when you build skills around scanning via RSS, social bookmarking, reaching into networks for expertise, etc.? Now the interesting part.
