The question is becoming more and more common — “Should I use PowerPoint (PPT) or Prezi?” The two presentation programs share many of the same features, such as the ability to include text, images, audio, and video. Sometimes a change of approach is called for, rather than a change in technology.

I’m experimenting with AI image tools to create images for my blog posts. While this is typically used for web design, Jerson Campos shared how he uses this for designing slides in Storyline and PowerPoint. This was created in Midjourney and edited in Affinity Designer. When I create presentations for our webinars or workshops, I like to use the imagery from our e-learning community or the Articulate website. If you need to collect images from your company site to use in your training this tip should help. Usually when I find an image, I right-click to save. Image Extractor Extension.

The worst presentations you can attend are those where the presenter reads out his PowerPoint to you without adding anything to it. The root of the problem is of course the lack of presenting skills from the presenter, but PowerPoint doesn’t really help. I do my share of presenting at workshops, webinars, conferences and expo’s.

Image generated with Playground.ai. I don’t spend a lot of time talking to people who just want me to make a PowerPoint prettier. Most of my income comes from paying clients, plus a smaller portion from teaching courses and workshops. At some point, what I do has to be paid. At some point, what I do has to be paid.

In an evaluation of one of our recent virtual workshops completed by about half of participants (20 people), 85 percent said the effectiveness was about the same as that of an in-person workshop. Case 1: A workshop created for virtual delivery. We kept both of these things in mind as we developed the workshop content.
