Im concerned that women will be excluded if such a focus is put on gaming skills -- or at least the gamer label. Im just raising some questions. I guess Im saying the focus should be less on "gaming" and more on use of new technology (social networking sites, gadgets, etc.) I dont have a conclusion here.

It seems to me that FaceBook is a great networking tool. Then again, perhaps Im missing something. Gin" stands for Group Interactive Network. It seems to me that a system like this could provide some of the networking that FaceBook provides -- within an organization -- and provide a lot of content. Have you heard of it?

Im a linear reader in recovery and have been actively learning how to skim books and not feel guilty about it. Lots of practical ideas and examples for turning basic teaching points into learning games -- from casual games to teach facts and concepts, to detailed simulations that teach procedures and problem solving. Im not sure if the SME was reading a script, reading the notes, or just speaking from the heart. They are part of a network I am associated with and they do a FANTASTIC job with audio, narration, music, etc. for e-learning and CBT projects. Back to the Google Desktop -- Im playing around a bit with the searching capabilities and am seeing the light. Im struggling a bit with figuring out how to set the preferences so that it searches where I need it to search (I save most of my files to a shared network drive; not locally). Very useful feature.
