As I sift through this weeks reading assignments, Im trying to pick out how this learning theory effects my work as a creator (an instructional designer) of self-paced eLearning experiences for the corporate market. (As opposed to building it?)

The TIPP learning theory showed me to be Traditional Personal with a visual preference (although I was also high on the auditory scale). Best of Learning Visions Essential Reading for Instructional Designers The Corporate Moodle: A Tipping Point? One test showed me to be a VKA learner (Visual, Kinesthetic, Auditory).

Dror is a cognitive scientist, who urges instructional designers to keep the focus on the learner rather than the learning materials and to design the learning experience to the human brain. Instead, we should learn about the actual mechanisms in the brain. Can I, um, have your attention, please?

Adult learning theory? Best of Learning Visions Essential Reading for Instructional Designers The Corporate Moodle: A Tipping Point? Along with a handful of other titles, some less glorified than others. :) I say its all about vision, creativity, passion for the learner experience, a good design sense, solid writing skills.

The MBA is fine, but you have to have experience and education (formal, certification or informal) in learning theory and learning design. I see the MBA remark as a metaphor: in the corporate world, youre not a learning academic. This type of learning is not rewarded, and is somehow viewed as not valid.
