Articulate Storyline 3 – Back from the throes of the SL2, which sorry was still an update IMO. Articulate 360 – uh, my mom always said if it isn’t nice don’t say it, but Rise should be called Deflate. iSpring 8.7 – If you like Articulate Studio, you are going to really love iSpring 8.7.

Use of PowerPoint in rapid content authoring tools – this has been a big irritant of mine, since the days when PPT first made its appearance in rapid content authoring tools. Some vendors use chapter-page approach with PPT, but there are plenty who do not (why?). Even with just content only – like PPT or video files.

For those who are e-learning developers, instructional designers (with the background to back it) or instructional technologists, I feel your pain. PowerPoint still reigns – If you are a course purist, the idea that PPT should be seen as an authoring tool should make you grumble with disgust. . Output to HTML5.

Some people might convert their PPT to a video (it can be done) OR they have that production facility and shoot their own high quality videos OR they purchase 3rd party content video courses. The biggest and best known of the initial RCATs is Articulate Studio, which uses PowerPoint as a cornerstone to their product. . Bottom Line.

Feature sets – they have to be more than PPT to Flash or add an audio clip and video clip to the course. – This is a tool that for fans of Articulate who may want some additional capabilities might enjoy. Articulate Studio – Stale. If they are stale – seriously do you deserve to the best?

One quick question…How do you do the annotation on your slides inside of Articulate? Is there an Articulate update I missed to allow you to do this?
