This adds a new paradigm in content authoring. This would be especially useful for talking head videos, that are describing or anchoring the content on the slide. Empower on the other hand does work, since it is a self-contained product and does not directly go into PowerPoint 2010 (but you can upload PowerPoint slides into it). Spelling – I am always surprised at the number of authoring tools who do not have this feature. So, no Snap! Lectora Snap! Right click capability.

Don’t leave it all up to your e-learning authoring tool, though. Resizing pictures or videos on the slide doesn’t change the size of the underlying file. Some optimization is best done to the media before it ever makes it into the authoring tool. An example of video file type is MPEG, RealVideo, FLV, etc. .
