This adds a new paradigm in content authoring. This would be especially useful for talking head videos, that are describing or anchoring the content on the slide. Captivate also bundles the Adobe Media Encoder, allowing you to import video in any popular format, and the same is converted into FLV and placed on your slides.

Empower on the other hand does work, since it is a self-contained product and does not directly go into PowerPoint 2010 (but you can upload PowerPoint slides into it). Spelling – I am always surprised at the number of authoring tools who do not have this feature. rather than the “slides” thing – which I hate.
