Support for Adobe Flash Player ends in 2020. Flash is the most popular output type, so it’s likely that your courses are SWF Flash-based. SWF courses do not work on certain devices; Apple devices. Some authoring tool effects do not work with HTML. Don’t create any more course content that is Flash SWF based.

Whenever a comparison of eLearning authoring tools is published, Captivate still is considered to be the best tool for creation of software tutorials. Sorry for my cynical attitude, had many discussions with authors over that type of articles. I think about merging with 360 slides, real quiz slides, adding links to other assets etc.

Flash content also poses a security risk if the required plug-in Player is not regularly updated. Republishing is a good option if you have legacy Flash eLearning content that was developed in an older version of an authoring tool. Simply republish the course using the latest version of the authoring tool.
