Is it the number of theories you can cite? Your desire to figure out a better way, so you can create a better learning experience the next time around? Adult learning theory? So as a licensed teacher I feel very knowledgeable in theory as well as practice and took that to a new level. What are the criteria?

The MBA is fine, but you have to have experience and education (formal, certification or informal) in learning theory and learning design. I see the MBA remark as a metaphor: in the corporate world, youre not a learning academic. This type of learning is not rewarded, and is somehow viewed as not valid.
