Back in 2000, the knock on rapid content authoring tools were they “pre-template” driven solutions. Everything was there for you, and the person simply plugged in images, etc. Simply put, one vendor has over 200 Flash-based templates in their product. One such vendor is Rapid Intake.

My personal favorite feature is the timeline with individual tracks for audio, images and text. Studio has always been known for the PowerPoint to Flash approach, but it also includes audio narration, TOC (yeah!) 14 Callidus Cloud – Rapid Intake. 1st vendor IMO to truly have HTML5 output. HTML5 output.

Worse, printing it out and handing it off to be marked up by your SME or another staff person. Remember when only a few offered the PPT to Flash option in their tools? Going back into 2010, there were less than nine, of which there was one who could output to HTML5, although it wasn’t really true HTML5 output.

Attendance booth person is attentive – more than at most trade shows across the board, that I have been to. Trivantis – Lectora Inspire – the product now supports HTML5, and comes with templates for tablets including the iPad – which is a good thing, since I will have my iPad with me. The reasons will be plentiful but largely driven by better/cheaper/more ubiquitous technologies and everyone’s acceptance of the fact we all use our phones (tablets, et al) to improve both personal and business communications and to be more productive.
