HTML5 output. Right now I am doing a survey on authoring tools (more on this at the end of the post) and so far 100% of all respondents state that HTML5 output is required in an authoring tool. I do believe that HTML5 output will continue to grow as an authoring tool feature. HTML5 templates. Others have at least 10.

I’ve always found this product to be the top of the line for PowerPoint to Flash course builds. HTML5 output, publish to the iPad and text to speech functionality. Yes they were one of the first ones to output to HTML5, but they were not the first. Articulate. Adobe Captivate. Articulate Studio.

PowerPoint – Ability to integrate or use PPT in your courses. Some vendors push heavily on PPT, implying that a great WBT is really a PPT converted to Flash. Flash output – still red hot. Flash isn’t going anywhere, except maybe the route of leaded gasoline. Here is a news flash: It’s not true.
