Articulate – The Storyline product is proving popular but is still closely allied to converting PowerPoint into Flash. Lectora will publish both Flash and HTML5 for Apps and rendering through iPads and smartphones. It supports HTML5 output to mobile devices but appears to say nothing, at present, about Tin Can.

Systems that are only available as hosted on your own servers are starting to significantly decline. Equally of interest, are the increase in open source systems that offer for a fee, hosting on their own servers, rather than on yours. I should note that there is one vendor who has their entire mobile platform on a USB jump drive.

You work online via the servers of your vendor. Remember when only a few offered the PPT to Flash option in their tools? Mobile Learning. Hmm, oh yeah mobile learning. The rapid increase in mobile learning is tied directly to tablets. Overall, all tablets, even those who accept Flash, accepts HTML5.

Mobile learning – it might surprise you to know that 75-80% of all systems in the space, currently do not offer any type of mobile learning, the number goes up even higher for online/offline synch. Q: I use Articulate, Rapid Intake and other 3rd party authoring tools, will they work in any LMS? They won’t be.
