Mzinga is a merger of KnowledgePlanet (an LMS provider and also the maker of the eLearning simulation tool - Firefly) and Shared Insights - a community / business social networking software company. The top execs at Mzinga are not the top execs from KnowledgePlanet. It makes me wonder what this says about the LMS and tools market.

Mzinga is the result of a merger between KnowledgePlanet and Shared Insights at the end of 2007. My first encounter with them was when they were still known as KnowledgePlanet. A: Dave Wilkins - We’re at the beginning of a schism in the LMS space—many vendors are moving their LMS to be part of a larger Talent Management vision.

They are moving towards a broader suite that focuses on other aspects of Talent Management. Oracle's ( Learning Management and PeopleSoft Enterprise Learning Management but less so it's iLearning ) and SAP Enterprise Learning score better than I would have expected. Update, Nov.
