Yesterday, Philip Linden (AKA: Philip Rosedale ) stepped down as CEO of Linden Labs (yes again). Bob will lead Linden Lab while we conduct the search. He said many longtime Second Life users are angry at the recent decisions by the company that runs the service, Linden Lab. He has done this before and then come back.

It certainly isnt Linden Labs responsibility to entertain you - that has never been their business model, all they have done is provide a 3D virtual world development platform where the only limitation (outside of number of prims) to what you can create is your own vision. where I am linking to all the Lewin stuff I find.

Kapp Notes , March 15, 2010 Terrence Linden discussing the new Second Life browser at VWBPE conference. Jeff Hurt, over at Midcourse Corrections, has a great post about opening and keynote speakers, and it made me think about conferences in general… …and about my own situation. So what’s the purpose of the conference ?

Games/Blogs/Wikis Lots of folks saying they have no plans to use these (about 50%) The forward-thinking folks are going to use these tools Get users in touch with SMEs and each other -- share info with each other. Better off if we can incorporate training material into the wikis and blogs. This may be good or bad. typically ASP.

The good news is that Second Life ne Linden Lab, has announced a partnership with IBM to "develop new technologies and methodologies based on open standards that will help advance the future of 3D virtual worlds. So after defending Linden Lab, here's the other side. between Stephen Downes and Sean Fitzgerald.

Here are three scenarios that Linden puts out there: Scenario 1 - Residents can teleport to voice-enabled land, andautomatically start speaking, with the volume of speech modifiedaccording to their spatial relationship with others. According to this press release , Voice will be coming to Second Life in Q2 of 2007.
