There are so many really useful sites out there that teach you various tips and tricks of blogging that I really wondered what value I had to add. am no authority in blogging, so IM’very’HO I shared my blogging experiences with them. There are syndication sites where you can post register your blog. | EXPERIENCING ELEARNING JULY 6, 2010 Instructional Design and E-Learning Blogs Back when I wrote my instructional design careers series in 2007, I was only aware of a few blogs by instructional designers. Since then, I’ve discovered a wealth of blogs by instructional designers, e-learning developers, and workplace learning specialists. Design for Learning is written by Natalie Laderas-Kilkenny, a former coworker of mine who blogs on education and technology. In the Middle of the Curve is one of the first blogs I linked to, back in January 2007. The Usable Learning Blog is written by instructional design consultant Julie Dirksen. | | | | | | | CLIVE ON LEARNING JULY 15, 2010 What blogging has become A recent article in The Economist, The evolving blogosphere , clarified for me how blogs have changed over the past five years and where they now sit amongst the panoply of social media applications. Not so long ago it was thought, almost assumed, that everyone would ultimately run their own blog - it was just a question of time before we all found something to say, gathered up the courage and started spouting off our opinions to those two billion or so internet users out there. JAY CROSS | WEDNESDAY, MARCH 10, 2010 Do the right thing; do not steal Most bloggers no longer feel they must blog every day. One area that noobs fail to understand is that it is not cool to “scrape other people’s blogs. Every week I come upon sites that break one or more of these taboos: Do not re-post someone else’s blog posts in their entirety. I’ve been happy to share my thoughts in blogs and free articles for more than a decade. Several automated blogs repost my work with ads alongside. THIRDFORCE BLOG | WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 10, 2008 100 Conversations… blogging ideas I came across an interesting concept today, which I’m sure many readers of e-learning blogs also read. The well known elearning Technology blog written by Tony Karrer , was reacting to a post on how to generate ideas for blogs. Now, according to Tony his blogs are mostly the results of conversations he has had, from which he learns something new. This is why he is suggesting we the blogging community go off and have some of those conversations ourselves and point him to them so he can benefit from the conversation without actually having it! SPICY LEARNING | TUESDAY, MARCH 20, 2012 How can Instructional Design be visual as well as engaging? The part that I would like to focus on in this blog is the neglected ‘kinaesthetic’ element – or what my dad was using to teach me about stars. My dad used to explain astronomy to me using salt pots and oranges. The orange generally represented the sun, whilst the salt pots, ketchup bottles and whatever else was on the kitchen table stood in for planets and comets. He would then make them all ‘orbit’ each other, enlisting my help when he ran out of hands and demonstrating why the moon seemed to change size each night, or how a solar eclipse worked. MORE >>
