PowerPoint is not E-Learning and shouldn’t be used as your course tool/development – For whatever reason, there are people who have been around online learning for years, who still see PPT as a means for the creation of content – i.e. courses. PPT is boring. No need, PPT is here! No way around it.

The same can be said for Cornerstone OnDemand. Resources – docs, video/audio files, podcasts, PPT, etc. The graphics were underwhelming (I saw better with Logan’s Run), the storyline was boring. Overrated was the universal opinion by moviegoers. Everyone wants to see it. Announcements or posts in general.

Of course, they were more looking at PPT conversion tools. For example, in 2007 PowerPoint to eLearning Shootout they compared: Articulate www.articulate.com Atlantic Link www.atlantic-link.co.uk PointeCast www.pointecast.com Qarbon www.qarbon.com SCATE www.scate.com Udutu www.udutu.com Atlantic link scored the highest in the shoot-out.

Some people might convert their PPT to a video (it can be done) OR they have that production facility and shoot their own high quality videos OR they purchase 3rd party content video courses. The most well known vendor to use modules are Cornerstone OnDemand. But SumTotal and alike do it as well.

No Cornerstone OnDemand at the show – that was really surprising, especially since they push Learning Cloud; No Saba, again they are really pushing folks to Saba Cloud, and have stated their commitment to Learning. Basically, you can add your PPT, MP4, assessment, word docs, etc. Vendor Time – Vendor Time.
