Oppia - just like the good old days

However, multi-choice questions are a blunt instrument when it comes to interacting with a student and certainly don''t give the feel of a tutorial relationship. I hope developers get behind Oppia and build it into a sophisticated tool for creating learning conversations that can then be embedded just about anywhere like YouTube videos.

The term has always been used this broadly in education, but in the corporate sector it continues to mean one thing only: interactive self-study tutorials, in the style of good old CBT (computer-based training). If you want to know about, say, photography - one of my current interests - the first thing you do is go to Google and YouTube.

Where is the model for e-learning?

We can model our learning videos on what we see on TV and on YouTube. But when we think about page/screen-based, tutorial e-learning, there really are no mass media parallels, unless of course you count business presentations, and in most cases they set a very poor example. We can model podcasts on what we hear on the radio.
