Can record you via a web cam, your voice and also you can upload slides – presentation for example. Able to zoom in on certain slides or even the presenter. Oh, and communities of practice, which you have in your social? Easy to use. Outputs to MP4. COPs hit their heyday back in the mid 2000′s.

Instead of your normal click next navigation, you use icons to link to the slides in the course. What I’d do is treat each screen the same as a slide and then use clickable icons to reveal the course’s information. Here are a few ideas to think about if implementing this type of template: Each slide is a distinct screen.

A key is to see each slide (which becomes a Flash movie) as a piece of information. Many of the slides have the same core content because usually only a few things change over a series of slides. So instead of making copies of slides with the same stuff on them, put as much as you can on the master slide.

If you’re just getting started, create a PowerPoint template with a slide for each area. You can add some production notes on each slide to help guide the process. If you want to be more structured, build some core content slides as well. Tidbits: I’m at the ASTD International Conference & Expo this week.

On a side note, check out the interactive scenario slides that David just uploaded this week. These slides are easy to re-use because all you really need to do is swap out the images and text content. But there may be parts of the course you can use, like the menu slides or one of the animation. Demo 1 : Office scenario.

Just finished up an online presentation, Using Social Medial to Improve Workplace Learning , slides below. At the end of the presentation, I tried something different and shared Wordle so we could make a word cloud for two issues: what things make a bad classroom training session and what an ideal online community would look like.

I see plenty of courses that don’t teach me how to navigate the course until slide 7. Odds are that if I made it to slide 7 the navigation instructions are kind of pointless.
