Not all of the big dog vendors have entered this space, despite it being a huge revenue opportunity. That is expected to change. While some vendors offer over 100 canned reports, may do not.

I can honestly say, the ATD show is changing from ILT driven (it has always been that way) to e-learning improvement. This year, I estimated a 55/60% e-learning, including some ILT vendors offering some type of e-learning component. . Vendor Time – Vendor Time. Wanting it.

I would estimate that there was a 60-40 split, still instructor led driven, but even a significant number of the ILT vendors were offering subsets or capabilities to turn their ILT into online via webinars or online courses. Barely moving (please change that). eBook publishing capability – I see this as a real winner by 2014, but right now only a couple of vendors are offering it within their RCAT, heck even LMS. The Kindle Fire, Barnes and Noble’s version are still heavy e-book driven. Change is invetiable.

A real concern though occurred when I asked the salesperson, if the administrator could turn on/off or change the labels on the front of the LMS (for example: it comes standard with “Course Catalog&# , but you want to change it or turn it off). The salesperson said sure, but they would need to know HTML. I said excuse me, HTML?
