This year, I estimated a 55/60% e-learning, including some ILT vendors offering some type of e-learning component. . In all the years I have attended and have known about ATD (formally ASTD), this year is by far the most in terms of e-learning vendors, especially those in the LMS space.

Personally, I think this is a mistake. A typical admin may be the person overseeing training (if the company is small) or someone in the department who is an instructional designer or more often then not, someone in your department who has been assigned this honor. Smaller size vendors already see this as a real revenue generator.

I would estimate that there was a 60-40 split, still instructor led driven, but even a significant number of the ILT vendors were offering subsets or capabilities to turn their ILT into online via webinars or online courses. Tend to focus on the small business market, although I have seen ones that will pitch up to 100,000 users – personally, I wouldn’t use them if my company was that large. Do not offer e-commerce.
