Other course authoring tools started to appear right after Authorware. Macromedia Dreamweaver came out with templates. Then it happened.

We had moved away from proprietary and were now using Macromedia Director. We do a lot of work in Flash and Articulate, but see ourselves as tool agnostic. We flirted with creating early knowledge management systems and went out of business the next year. We should have stuck with what we were good at. We are adapting as we speak.

I recommend to my students that in choosing the right tool for mLearning, they need to look for tools that are designed more along the lines of Dreamweaver (i.e. based on relative screen percentages) and stay away from tools that force you to pick absolute dimensions, which will only yield great results on a single screen.
