You’ve got to rise above the noise to see the underlying patterns, and then optimize them. The only way to handle long tail learning is to focus on providing the tool set and personal learning and working skills ( work literacy ) that are central to concept work. But all of this is really about metalearning.

I'm particularly drawing on both personal experience and on experience with the work skills workshops we are offering. At the start of these workshops, we put people into remote work teams. My focus in this post is mostly on the Tool Set and a little bit about methods - as is the focus of this series.

Get to know your audience in advance, then provide off-the-shelf and custom content that maps to their specific interests, goals and behavioral patterns. For example, you could encourage participants to create “work out loud” journal entries, checklists or other related resources. Seek balance.
