If Valamis wanted to push heavy and truly commit to the CE segment, they would have acquired a vendor who has capabilities or features or even themselves plays in the CE side. That’s it.

Many are affiliated marketing links – this is where a vendor sets up an affiliate program, and folks who are affiliates make money, when you click the link on their site to go to the vendor’s site. Q : I am curious on why Cornerstone On Demand, Saba and SumTotal do not appear in your top twenty lists even though they appear on other sites as the best products in the market. My latest take on those three vendors (plus one) are: Cornerstone On Demand – I have seen the new UI and I like what I saw. Am I missing something?

It was an exciting first day, with lots of vendors hitting the entire training spectrum. Here are my favorites: Numerous vendors were unhappy that they had to pay $700 a day for Wi-Fi, that didn’t work most of the time or was slow. One vendor who spent $5,000 on their booth, thought the $700 a day fee was obscene and declined.

Vendors who have a booth would need to have disinfectant, hand sanitizers and wipes with them at all time, and rub down anyplace that someone put their hand on, on a regular basis, and not say once a day. In past recessions, the e-learning market took a hit. Especially on the vendor side, whereas pricing for systems, dropped in cost.

From a vendor perspective there was a huge impact, but what was odd, is that some vendors still are living in the past, as though, this is a minor blip, and in 2021, everything will go back as it was – corporate wise that is. Sorry to disappoint – but it won’t. . that needed a system. Oh, and a huge chunk stinks.

One vendor who isn’t on the list, for multitude of reasons, accepts over 25 payment gateways — that is enormous in size for this industry. There are vendors who include a payment gateway for those who don’t have one, but the catch is that they charge a transaction fee along with point of sales per item sold fee.

Sure, they offer a separate LMS called SumTotal Maestro, but their TM has surprisingly (not really) been morphed into a HCM, will others follow? To me, this is how vendors skirt the issue. . That said, there were some hiccups and from an entire vendor wise (expo here) angle, some unique and some, uh. This year, I estimated a 55/60% e-learning, including some ILT vendors offering some type of e-learning component. . I see way too many vendors think a web site is all they need and people will find them.

Three months ago, only a few systems had either integrated for no additional charge or for additional fees, a talent management/performance management feature set. The spin is that you can accrue points by reading an article, taking a course, leaving comments, ranking content, completing an assessment and so on – varies among vendors. For some reason a lot of vendors, erroreously assume that modules is widely used – it isn’t. But SumTotal and alike do it as well.

Act 2 – Select only a vendor who is well known (name recognized). What it does mean, is that the vendor is strong in marketing and getting their name out to the general public. The first to use SumTotal. If your LMS vendor does not offer it and you want it, go API. For if they were, everyone would want to buy him.

Mentor includes native apps for iOS and Android, performance tools, on/off synch and analytics are super savers in this solution, but the issue I have is that it costs extra. I always love vendors who constantly update and enhance their system multiple times throughout the year and eLogic is no exception. At least I am. Bottom Line.
